Presentations and Talks

Every year, our lawyer, Annelie Hovler presents to P&C groups at Queensland Special Schools, and other not-for-profit orginisations and charities.

Our talks cover topics such as:

  • how to protect the inheritance you intend to leave a family member with special needs

  • Legal hurdles you may encounter as your young person with a disability becomes an adult

  • Trust structures, including the Special Disability Trust

  • Capacity, Guardianship and Statutory Guardians

  • QCAT processes

  • Other legal questions that your group are interested in or have questions about

We also facilitate talks or workshops with self-advocacy groups of adults with mild intellectual disability, where the topics of discussing often is around consent, entering into binding agreements, internet shopping, independency and decision making, and guardians and carers.

These talks and workshops are offered free of charge to not-for-profit groups, schools and P&C associations and can be either in person or online.

Limited number of presentations available each quarter.
